Instead of restricting who can and cannot fix these problem homes, work with us better to find cost effective/feasible ways through variances or special circumstances to get a few more years out of these homes - especially when the city doesn't have money to tear them all down. Telling us to hire someone or pushing codes designed for new construction is NOT working with smaller-older-existing homes, and some of our neighborhoods are paying the price!
