I have previously lived in Minneapolis and I see way more homeless people and homeless villages here in DSM. Not only are the villages a complete eye sore, it is uncomfortable for residents to encounter them when they are begging or just being a public nuisance in common areas, like the public library for example. Why is Des Moines such a hot bed for the homeless? This city makes it too easy and convenient to offer nothing of substance to humanity. I understand being down on your luck, but it seems like so many of the homeless here are doing it as a way of life with no intentions of bettering themselves. It’s an eyesore and an embarrassment to DSM.
